Hank Lacayo, a local and national political force who advocated for people from kids to seniors, has died.

Lacayo died Monday afternoon at his Newbury Park home after battling throat cancer. He was 85.

Lacayo dedicated his life to making others' lives better, said Richard Rush, the former president of CSU Channel Islands.
