On Sunday, May 1, DSA-Los Angeles honors the contributions of workers, immigrants, and all those who fight for a socialist Los Angeles. This year’s theme will be “Essential & United for Justice” and we will focus on lifting up the work we have been doing throughout the pandemic: from supporting immigrants, to unionization efforts, to fighting evictions, all of us united in solidarity as the working class.

My Brothers and Sisters,

As this crisis continues, each day we get news of another brother or sister who has fallen to this terrible virus. Today, I am so sorry to report that one of our members at FCA Transport in Sterling Heights, Michigan, has died from the virus. I, along with Vice President Cindy Estrada and the entire International Executive Board extend our heartfelt sympathies and prayers to our dear brother’s family and friends.

For more than 45 years, the Family Education Center has been a place where UAW members and their families come together for an experience that combines education with recreation.

It’s a place to learn about our union, unlock ideas and build new friendships with other UAW families.
